The focus for Module Ten is the USA with over 3500 images, many from our photo campaign in the west and southwest in Oct. 2014. Highlights in NM include the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Taos Pueblo; El Rancho de Las Golondrinas near Sante Fe (a living Spanish hacienda); the New Mexico Museum of Art by Isaac Rapp (best example of the Pueblo Revival Style); and the amazing organic architecture of the Prince House & Studio by Bart Prince. Highlights in Los Angeles include the Theme Building LAX, by Pereira & Luckman and Union Station by the Parkinsons, which combines revival styles with Streamline Moderne creating a unique effect. In San Francisco we cover the De Young Museum, by Herzog & de Meuron; The Terrace at the CA Academy of Science, a stunning essay in Modernist simplicity by Mark Cavagnero; and the gorgeous Japanese Tea Garden, Golden Gate Park. In Phoenix we feature the new Prayer Pavilion of Light by debartolo architects and the Natural Sciences Building at the Scottsdale Community College by Richard + Bauer. Coverage in the US also includes the campuses of Cranbrook Academy of Art and Yale University. Module Ten also includes over 600 new images from India, taken by our photo associate André Donais. Highlights from India include the Tomb of Akbar the Great; the Falaknuma Palace at Hyderabad (including the throne room only open to the public one day a year); the Kapaleeshwarar Temple in Chennai; and the Upvan Art Festival dancers. The module furhter holds more Early Modernist content from The Netherlands, including the Bouve Villa (Brinkman and Van der Vlugt); the Sonneveld Villa (Baas and Stokla); and the Erasmuslann 9 Housing Block in Utrecht by Rietveld. Other important works covered in the module include art from the Musée d’Orsay and Musée Rodin; the Versailles fountains at play; the Tate Modern and Golden Jubilee Bridge in London; the Sanssouci Palace and Gardens in Potsdam; the Royal Castle in Warsaw and the Seoul New City Hall by iArc Architects in South Korea to name but a few.
