Module Eight holds extensive new photography in the USA, including: Watts Towers, non-traditional vernacular architecture in Los Angeles, built over a 33-year period by Sabato Rodia; the beautiful pre-weathered steel Arabian Public Library by Richard + Bauer Architecture in Scottsdale AZ; and Simmons Hall at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology by Steven Holl, to name a few. Important works in Germany are covered—the modern Bauhaus Archive by Walter Gropius in Darmstadt, and in Berlin, the Library for the Faculty of Philosophy by Foster + Partners, the German Historical Museum by IM Pei, the German Chancellery by Charlotte Frank and Axel Schultes, other new government buildings around the Reichstag, and art objects in the Bode Museum, such as The Lamentation of Christ by Juan de Valmaseda.

For Module Nine, Archivision undertook a major documentation of important works in the Netherlands during the summer of 2013, including Het Schip and Spaarndammerplantsoen (north and south) by Michel de Kierk. Other important works in the Netherlands include the Hilversum City Hall by Dudok, the colourful Institute for Sound and Vision by Neutelings Riedijk Architecten, the early modern (Nieuwe Bouwen) Zonnestraal estate by Jan Duiker, and the famous De Stijl Schröder House by Rietveld. The module also contains a selection of art works from the Rijksmuseum Garden and museum. For new architecture from Asia this module includes Taipei 101 by C.Y. Lee & Partners, the Beijing Capital Airport, the Shanghai Tower by Gensler (still under construction but almost there …) and 21_21 Design Sight by Tadao Ando in Tokyo.

The focus for Module Ten is the USA with over 3500 images, many from our photo campaign in the west and southwest in Oct. 2014. Highlights in NM include the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Taos Pueblo; El Rancho de Las Golondrinas near Sante Fe (a living Spanish hacienda); the New Mexico Museum of Art by Isaac Rapp (best example of the Pueblo Revival Style); and the amazing organic architecture of the Prince House & Studio by Bart Prince. Highlights in Los Angeles include the Theme Building LAX, by Pereira & Luckman and Union Station by the Parkinsons, which combines revival styles with Streamline Moderne creating a unique effect. In San Francisco we cover the De Young Museum, by Herzog & de Meuron; The Terrace at the CA Academy of Science, a stunning essay in Modernist simplicity by Mark Cavagnero; and the gorgeous Japanese Tea Garden, Golden Gate Park.

(AMA) ADJUNCT MODULE A -- ITALIAN ART (3,000 images) (available now)

This module of 3,000 images covers a wide range of art in Italy, from Ancient Roman frescoes, mosaics and sculpture to masterworks—paintings and sculpture—from the Medieval to Baroque periods. Where possible extensive details were taken which are not available from other sources. This collection is pulled from over 22,000 photographs taken during the summer of 2015 with many more works following in Adjunct Module B: Italian Art (another 3,000 photos) to be published winter 2017.

(A11) MODULE ELEVEN (available now)

Module Eleven contains many important recent works from China, including the futuristic forms of the Dalian City Sport Center; the Dalian International Conference Center and the Dalian Shell Museum. Also featured is the Lingering Garden in Suzhou, one of the most loved classical Chinese gardens. From India comes exquisite documentation of the Taj Mahal; coverage of the Devi Jagadambi Temple complex, the Secretariat in New Delhi and the Indian Institute of Management by Louis Kahn, to name just a few. In the USA, Colorado is featured, including the Clyfford Still Museum in Denver by Allied Works Architecture, a triumph in minimalist architecture. New Urbanism is represented by Iris Hollow, a Boulder development by Coburn.
